Wilderness Trip Director Position
This position works as a pair and is responsible for overall integrity of trips programs at Camp Manitou, including total safety and well-being of all trip participants while in camp and when on trail.
Responsibilities
-
To develop and supervise out of camp trip programs suited to the skills and aptitudes of the campers in a safe manner.

Deliver and return participants, ensuring they have all proper supplies and equipment.
-
Provide strong and meaningful leadership for all out-of-camp programs.
-
Teach staff trip safety, canoeing and kayaking and outdoor skills during staff training.
-
Conduct appropriate and thorough training for all participants before all trips and while on trail.
-
Responsible for inventory, repair and maintenance of all equipment and supplies.

Coordinates meal preparation and packing with Kitchen Staff.
-
Responsible to check in at a minimum of every other night to Camp Director while out on trail.

Maintain professional appearance, attitude and demeanor for duration of employment.

Leads, directs and instructs campers in all camp programs and shares responsibility for the total care and wellbeing of campers.

Assumes counselor responsibilities when in camp after trips, or when assigned to a cabin.

Other job-related duties as may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position.

Other duties that support other program staff areas.
Qualifications- Required

Must have an exemplary driving record.

Attend and assist in staff training

Report for work Tuesday, May 28 at 9am

Upon hire, obtain certifications in Wilderness First Responder
Qualifications- Preferred

Recommended to be 21 years of age

Maintain professional appearance, attitude and demeanor for duration of employment.

Leads, directs and instructs campers in all camp programs and shares responsibility for the total care and wellbeing of campers.

Assumes Senior Staff responsibilities when in camp after trips, or when assigned to a cabin.

Other job-related duties as may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position.
